Turn Off Player Waypoints on Minecraft Bedrock

Bedrock no longer calls this a locator bar in current builds. Switch Player waypoints to Off, or set the playerWaypoints rule. Java gamerule names do not work here.

Current for Bedrock after the 26.30 player-waypoints rename.

Stop using Java names. On current Bedrock the control is Player waypoints. Set it to Off in world settings, or run the Bedrock rule. /gamerule locator_bar and /gamerule locatorBar do not exist here.

World settings

  1. Open the world settings before you load in, or pause and open settings if the host allows it.
  2. Find Player waypoints.
  3. Set it to Off.

Older worlds may still show a label that says Locator bar. That is the retired name. Treat it as the same switch.

If chat rejects the name, use the settings toggle. Do not paste a Java command and assume it translated.

What this does not change

Bedrock assigns a marker color at random each session. There is no UUID color to look up, and the homepage tool cannot invent one. That limit is spelled out on Locator Bar on Bedrock.

Java disable steps stay on Turn Off the Locator Bar in Minecraft Java.
